<h3 data-start="1367" data-end="1397">What These Results Tell Us</h3>
<ul data-start="1399" data-end="1984">
<li data-start="1399" data-end="1628">
<p data-start="1401" data-end="1628"><strong data-start="1401" data-end="1439">Strong demand for long-term bonds:</strong> The 15-year bond attracted massive attention — over <strong data-start="1492" data-end="1512">UGX 2.4 trillion</strong> was raised from this one bond alone. It shows Ugandans are thinking long term and prioritizing wealth preservation.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1632" data-end="1802">
<p data-start="1634" data-end="1802"><strong data-start="1634" data-end="1670">Higher returns for longer terms:</strong> The longer you commit your money, the higher the interest rate. From 15.75% for 2 years to 17.65% for 15 years, the trend is clear.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="1804" data-end="1984">
<p data-start="1806" data-end="1984"><strong data-start="1806" data-end="1848">Government is raising serious capital:</strong> Over <strong data-start="1854" data-end="1874">UGX 2.7 trillion</strong> was raised across the three bonds — an indication of confidence in the safety and returns of government debt.</p>

<h3 data-start="1991" data-end="2041">Real-Life Example – What You Could Have Earned</h3>
<p data-start="2043" data-end="2117">Let’s say you invested <strong data-start="2066" data-end="2083">UGX 1,000,000</strong> in the 5-year bond at <strong data-start="2106" data-end="2116">16.20%</strong>:</p>

<li data-start="2119" data-end="2208">
<p data-start="2121" data-end="2208">You’d earn <strong data-start="2132" data-end="2156">UGX 162,000 per year</strong> in interest paid out in two parts every 6 months.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="2209" data-end="2267">
<p data-start="2211" data-end="2267">Over 5 years, you’d collect <strong data-start="2239" data-end="2254">UGX 810,000</strong> in interest.</p>
